Learning Link Scotland is the intermediary body for Voluntary Sector organisations engaged in adult education in Scotland. We currently support, develop, promote and represent a membership of around 100 Voluntary Sector adult learning groups and organisations based in 28 local authority areas. Together member organisations provide a wide range of learning opportunities to over 237,000 adults per annum, many of whom are socially excluded. Learners from ethnic minority backgrounds, single parents, unemployed people, people with disabilities, carers and rurally isolated people are amongst the many beneficiaries provided for by our membership. Our member organisations provide a wide range of learning opportunities to over 35,000 volunteers per annum and employ over 4,000 full and part time staff.

Mindset and Resilience at Work (Seminar 1)

Keynote Speaker: Dr Carol Craig, CEO Centre for Confidence and Wellbeing
Why is it that some people thrive in the face of challenge and adversity at work, while others panic and withdraw into themselves? And why is it these same people appear to get ahead while others tread water or go under? Carol Craig will lead you in thinking about how developing a “growth mindset” can increase your own resilience at work and how this can contribute to the work of your organisation.

The Club Room, City Halls, Glasgow
24 February 2010
10am to 1pm

Mindset and Confidence (Seminar 2)

Keynote Speaker: Isobel MacNaughtan, Centre for Confidence and Wellbeing
The Centre has pioneered a number of confidence boosting exercises and methods which can be used by a range of learners.  Isobel MacNaughtan, who was instrumental in the design and development of the Confident Futures programme for Edinburgh Napier University, has conducted workshops across Scotland to share and learn from these ideas. Isobel will lead us in thinking about how these techniques can support our personal development as practitioners and how we can develop them as part of our programmes and projects.

Business Centre, City of Edinburgh Chambers
24 March 2010
10am to 1pm

By taking part in these seminars you will be able to:
- Increase your understanding of how to develop a “growth mindset”.
