Learning Link Scotland Network Meeting

Cyber Resilience & Data Protection – Tuesday 7th November, 2017

All members are warmly invited to attend Learning Link Scotland’s Network meeting on Tuesday 7th November. It will be held in WEA Scotland’s Meeting Room, 17 Gayfield Square, Edinburgh, EH1 3NX from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. In addition to the usual sharing of news and events, this network meeting will focus on Cyber Resilience and the new General Data Protection Regulation requirements, and what these both mean for your organisation.

Cyber Resilience Project
Over recent months the media has reported increased levels of cyber attacks on both high profile and small organisations. In order to help third sector organisations manage their own cyber risk, Learning Link Scotland is working together with SCVO on a new Project to build a cyber resilient third sector in Scotland. There are opportunities for up to 10 organisations to be part of this exciting new programme. Find out more about how your organisation could get involved at this event.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies  from 25th May 2018 and will change the way organisations store and use data on individuals. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has produced a12 step guidance document to help you through the process. Find out more about using the guidance and share experiences with others to get ready for implementing the GDPR in your own organisation in time for the deadline.

In order to enable us to make appropriate arrangements for the Network meeting it would be helpful if you can confirm your attendance. Please email Shirley Howitt, Development Officer: showitt@learninglinkscoltand.org.uk
