Join the Learning Link Scotland Board

Learning Link Scotland was established for and by third sector adult learning organisations. Our purpose is to ensure third sector adult learning organisations work together to create a successful, dynamic and forward thinking Scotland and our mission is to support, promote, represent and develop third sector adult learning in Scotland.
If you support our purpose and mission, why not join our board of directors? All members of Learning Link Scotland are eligible to nominate themselves to join the board. The board normally meets quarterly and board members have the option to join working groups. At the moment we have two working groups, one focusing on finances and another on reviewing our governing articles. All meetings are currently taking place virtually and usually last a maximum of two hours. In addition to quarterly meetings, board members are asked to participate in an annual planning day.
It is a challenging time in Scotland for adult learning as organisations, tutors and learners adapt to changing circumstances. It is also interesting strategically as Learning Link Scotland continues to contribute to the development of the Adult Learning Strategy for Scotland and the new Lifelong Leaning Strategy outlined in the Programme for Government.
We would love to hear from people who understand the issues impacting on adult learning in Scotland. No prior experience is required but we value an enthusiasm for adult learning, the third sector and a commitment to equality. We are looking for a wide range of skills and experiences, however, applications are particularly welcomed from individuals with experience in finance/audit and income generation.
Membership is unpaid, although reasonable expenses will be met.
