Making Numeracy Count
A 2008 national report on adult numeracy highlighted the need to
develop numeracy provision in programme delivery. Learning Link
Scotland member organisations delivering numeracy training also
indicated a need for training and developing the numeracy of
practitioners.
We worked with the Scottish Government Learning Connections team
to develop a model for local delivery and to recruit a team of
specialists to provide bespoke training and development for
practitioners.
We coordinated, managed, evaluated and reported on the
process and findings. 93% of 161 practitioners in 16 training
sessions across 17 local authorities reported increased numeracy
facilitation skills and organisational capacity to deliver adult
literacy.
