Policy Committee

The Policy Committee is a network of practitioners and chief officers from Learning Link Scotland members who are interested in the development and implementation of local, regional, national and international policies that impact on the voluntary sector and adult education.

As with all Learning Link Scotland networks, the Committee is participant-led and directs the yearly programme of work in partnership with staff. Their work includes,

  • informing policy for Learning Link Scotland;
  • identifying issues of importance to the sector, and
  • strengthening links between decision-makers, those working within voluntary adult education and learners.

Participants are able to engage in debate about policy and its implications for organisations involved in adult education, and to attend seminars that bring together leaders and decision-makers with practitioners and learners.

In the Spring of 2003 the Policy Committee produced “Time to Learn”, a Manifesto for the voluntary adult education sector.

If you would like further information on the Policy Committee and its work, please contact Jayne Stuart, Director.
